S/M Futures
S/M Futures was first published in 1995 and quickly became one of Circlet's fastest-selling titles. The authors in the book were mostly unknowns, and the end of the millenium seemed a bit distant yet. The idea of combining SM erotic fiction with futuristic science fiction, high technology, space travel, and the like was one that seemed natural, and yet there were no other books out on the subject. S/M Futures opened the door for the publication of many works by the contributors, and for other volumes of high-tech SM erotica, by the likes of Masquerade Books and other publishers. In 1998 an excerpt from S/M Futures was featured in fetish lifestyle and fashion magazine Skin Two, in a special issue on the technological future of sex today. Cyberpunk, Star Trek and the Road Warrior future have come to the dungeons and SM playrooms of leather folk everywhere. The future is here, now. The political realities of the SM lifestyle continue to change, and the erotic drive is diminished not at all by new technologies or new attitudes in fashion or society.
